An amazing recently renovated house with character! We were in the area for some mountain biking and rented the suite for a couple days. Very generous space with a charming kitchen and beautiful garden. It's on a quite street walking distance from shops and restaurants. Great owners with a lovely pooch named Paco. Would rent it again in a heart beat. The website doesn't do this lovely and authentic place any justice.
Excellent accommodations, very private and quiet. Highly recommended.
I like to ride... On a tour of British Columbia I met Bernie and Linda of the Kaslo House. Being a Handyman I really admired the extensive work that these two have put into the home. As I recall it was originally built in the early 1900's and upon passing the threshold it was as if I was back in time... but with wifi.On my trip I got to stay in many hotels, motels and crappy little lodges... If I had it my way I would have preferred to spend every night in the Kaslo House. Complete with an old dog that sunbathes in the buff on the back deck the home is conveniently located two blocks from the downtown area. Now for my favorite part.... besides being set up with homemade cookies I was provided with a key to the front door with the words "but we never lock the front door" I live in the San Francisco Bay Area up in the mountains, and being able to leave my B&B home unlocked an open made me feel more at home than anywhere else on my trip. Both Bernie and Linda are avid motorcycle riders which gave us more than ample room for fun stories and tales of adventure. Additionally Kaslo is right smack in the middle of the best motorcycle riding in BC... but I can't tell you that or I'd have to kill you. Shhhh don't tell anyone else cause I want to go back and stay in the Kaslo House and I don't want you in my newest favorite spot.Matthew
Kaslo House is a beautifully renovated heritage house close to all the amenities of Kaslo. It is very special to us because we are related to the original owners - what a unique opportunity to stay in the original family home. However, I would recommend this property to anyone visiting Kaslo. It has a bygone era feel (especially with the clawfoot tub) but all the modern conveniences. Bernie and Linda are exceptional hosts!
